Not surprisingly, not every shower curtain will fit every shower situation. In some very elaborate bathrooms there are huge, very tall showers that are designed to reflect opulance and style. As a result of the tall ceilings and above standard designs the typical length shower curtain is just not going to cut it. Invariably the standard shower curtain will fall short and water will leak out of the tub. To solve this problem you need an extra long shower curtain.

They aren't always so easy to find. You can get them at most places that sell standard shower curtains, such as Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc. But the choices are severely limited. You won't have 100 pretty designs and styles to choose from, often there are just a few. It's much easier to find a long shower curtain liner, but those are generally either clear or white anyway, so there's no need for wide variety.

Your best option for finding this novelty item is to go online and choose an online retailer that specializes in shower curtains. They tend to have a huge variety either because they buy such huge volume and get a deal, or they custom make them. With the right retailer you will find what you need, and of course prices will be appropriately higher.

It's something to consider when installing a larger, taller shower area. Either get doors so that curtains are needed, have a wide open area big enough that water can't escape the shower anyway, or don't make it quite so tall. It's these little things that we don't often think about as we build bigger and better. Instead we run into the problems on the back end.
