Shower Curtain Liner

Some people forget that a good shower curtain is really a two part deal. You need to protect the curtain with a shower curtain liner. The curtain itself often isn't very water proof and will soak each time you take a shower unless you get a good liner.

The liner is usually a clear plastic and will go inside the shower basin while the curtain itself should hang outside. This will keep the pretty curtain cleaner and dryer, while the inside liner takes the beating of the water.

The liner will also need to be cleaned otherwise mold and mildew will collect. I washed mine in warm water in the washing machine, and while it did a great job of cleaning it (I used bleach) it also seemed to make the liner stick together when dry. As a result I have to pull it apart whenever I pull the curtain across the full length of the bathtub during a shower. A minor inconvenience in order to have a clean shower liner.

Most liners cost about $10-15, with some a bit higher. They do make some that proclaim to be mildew free like this one, Maytex No More Mildew Shower Curtain Liner at Amazon. It even has anti-bacterial properties.

There are bunch of options for liners at Amazon as well as various department stores. Check out the list here: List of Liners
